Loma Linda University Church Installation Completed

September 18, 2007—The final phase of the sanctuary lighting project begun in 2005 was completed this week with the installation of low-voltage accent lighting designed to feature the baptistery and the Church’s impressive, 127-rank Casavant Freres pipe organ. LED units were chosen to showcase the organ’s 7036 pipes, an area where traditional lighting often proves troublesome due to critical heat restraints and maintenance inaccessibility. With the cooler operating temperature and long duty cycle, in addition to low power consumption, LED’s are increasingly the technology of choice, according to Richard Brown of Richard Brown Lighting Design. “They’re incredibly versatile and perfect for places where heat is a concern. It’s a technology that has completely come of age.”

Loma Linda University, a Seventh-day Adventist University, Medical and Dental School, is located an hour east of Los Angeles.

Streaming Video Lab Now Online

April 7, 2007—It Is Written’s new steaming video production studio is officially online with the completion of a new lighting system designed and installed by Richard Brown Lighting Design.

“The lighting…installed in this media lab is outstanding and I'm sure will provide for years of successful videotaping,” according to Fred Knopper, manager for the project. Knopper chose a technologically-advanced, low voltage lighting package, in part, because it uses less power, produces less heart and is virtually maintenance-free, while still providing excellent broadcast capabilities.

The studio, located at the Adventist Media Center in Simi Valley, California, will be used for the production of a variety of Internet broadcasts.
